I've got a built 460 sitting on the garage floor waiting to go in. The only thing this truck is going to haul is the mail.
I am doing the same thing to my 72. I have a crown vicky engine/trans in there now. I will be using your fuel door design as well. Thanks for the detailed post and the ford-****!

Cool Idea on the bed floor... I had something very similar in mind for my 65... only using the click magnets where you push and the door pops up... curious what you got the mechanism for your flip door off of. looks great!

I went to the boneyard and took the fuel door hinge off of a Lincoln Towncar. I had to modify the arm to fit the bed floor.
I was close on mine... I went 7"x7" just cut it actually... I havent 100% decided on which way Im going... Im tempted to find a good fuel door and graft it in.. but
there is something to be said about being sneaky... one of the guys here recommended I get a license plate spring hinge from a 70s 80s car where the filler was behind the plate.
dunno.. gonna hit the yard tomorrow afternoon and see what I find.
Did you build the frame that goes around that or was that part of the assembly you pulled?

What year model modular engine are you using? What are you going for fuel delivery? I have many questions about how you are setting up your motor.
Instigator this is exactly what I want to do but dont know if the tank will work with a newer model internal fuel pump/sending unit set up. Love the idea on the filler tube hide. Looks good. I have seen other ideas but this seems simpler and pretty clean. I saw a guy hide a filler tube inside a marker light on a bed of a 72 chev once. Only limit is the imagination!
