aod overdrive
i have an 89 fullsize bronco with 5.0 litre. i just put in another aod tranny it works fine but it dosent seem to want to go into overdrive. i have the vehicle at 60 mph where od should engage but i have to lightly jab the throttle and let off then it will drop into od and drive fine. its also droping into reverse hard. any ideas ?

i did set it i had help from one of the guys at work , i work at a ford dealership but im just an apprentice in my first year. i know we didnt set it the way the book says i held the outer arm on the tranny all the way back "towards the rear" then he locked the cable so im gona readjust it according to the book monday . but do u think if the tv cable is out of spec that it could cause the hard reverse and wierd overdrive ?

Yes, a TV cable adjustment out of whack can cause trans failure, so DO NOT DRIVE IT till you can get it fixed.
