im plannin on swapin the stock4;88 gears for a 9 in
plan on 17 in rims with 3-4 in rubber on the back tires
ill run a 429 w/c6
i dont plan on towing anything, (young and got a lead foot) so i would like to have a good get up and go
what are your sugestions on a good gear ratio

A 3 inch sidewall? That is a 23 inch diameter tire.
A 4 inch is 25.
At 65 mpg with the 23 inch tire, you are at 2849 RPM with a 3.0 axle.
With the 25 inch tire, 2621 with the 3.0.
As I said before, go here and put in other variables:
