c4 trans not working

c4 trans not working
did a trans filter now won't go nowhere now. will only go in backwards acts like drive gear isn't there. the only thing i can think of is it has this spring under the filter that fell out put it back in the best way i could figure out how it came out but i guess it's wrong... HELP anyone know what spring i'm talking about and how it goes in there?
