So, I was driving down Hwy 101 in Marin to SF and my engine dies. I pull over and notice that the DP Tuner control module is not lighted. I jiggle it and the light (number 4) comes back on and the truck starts again. Drive a little farther down the road and the engine dies again. Jiggle the DP Tuner control module and it starts again. The control module is just sticky taped onto the dash, so I push it down hard to it will hold better. The truck starts again and no further problems.
I bought the truck w/the DP Tuner in it and don't have any instructions. Obviously there's a loose connection of some kind causing this problem. I don't want to disable the truck by taking the control module out without knowing what I'm doing. Is the DP Tuner installation manual available online or does anyone know of a shop in the SF Bay Area that can just "fix" it for me? Please advise. Thanks!
Which part are you jiggling? The chip or the switcher?
It's the small rectangular control unit on the dash (the switcher, I assume) which you use to select the DP Tuner settings. The setting light went out each time the engine died, but came on again after I jiggled the control unit.

Give me a call tomorrow and I will e-mail you the instructions as well as see if I can't hook you up with a mount so you can do something more permanent than the velcro. If you have anymore issues or get stuck just call me cell and I will walk you through what to do. 541-601-1083
That's the switch and if it comes unplugged or don't make good connection at the plug, it will kill the engine. Does make for a good security tool. I sometimes just pull the switch out and drop in my pocket. Ain't nobody taking my truck then.

Sounds like problem.. I do the same thing Barry sometimes
I have mine mounted to the guage pilliar. I just unplug the connector from the F5 and leave it there so that it "looks" like it is plugged in. Would be easier if I would memorize the no start instructions.
I have had mine die or hickup several times and each time the cable had come slightly unplugged at the controller
Dianne sent me a new cable but can't find time to install it
I believe for nostart you push both buttons at the same time,I never use it
We have instructions accessible from our site anytime.
click on our logo at the top right corner of this page. go to documents. Scroll down to F5 operation instruction.
We are out of town at the moment. Email me your name and address. I'll get you a new cable out when we return.
Diane
I took a look at the available documentation but didn't see anything that would help me.
It would help to get a photo or schematic of how the switcher is supposed to be mounted and where the cable runs from it to where ever it goes. I'm going to take a look at it today in the garage, so if I mess up at least I don't have to tow it back home.
Sending you an email on your website w/my email address for a new cable. Thanks!

Thanks for the links. The 2nd one looks like the most helpful to me. BTW, it happened again -- engine died -- before I got onto an on-ramp to the freeway.
I've been lucky so far. Each time the engine died, I've been close to a place to full over, but I've got to fix this problem before I get stuck with no place to pull over.
Yeah, that's how mine looks, but I obviously have a loose connection somewhere and I'm going to wait until I get a new cable from Diane @ DP Tuner before I pull it out.
