So I drove 6 hours today to pickup a set of rebuilt heads for 89 f350 7.3. SInce my old ones were cracked and still at the machine shop I bought them anyway ($250 pair craigslist )
Now these heads came with the truck the guy bought 8 years ago, they still have a machined surface and greay paint, one was still in the bag. One has some rust from sitting but I am gonna have it cleaned up.
when I get home, I checked the casting numbers and they are different from my heads. I dont have them side by side but Ihad the original casting numbers from old cracked heads.
could these be newer heads for the 7.3 (or older)? Should I watch for any ports etc not being blocked etc?
