Now suspension ideas

So by now everyone should know I really have no clue about this stuff so I will ask for ideas again. I am going after me an F1 frame tomorrow and was just thinking about the suspension. This frame has no suspension I have looked at some of the kits online and they are pretty expensive.

That being said I know none of this is really cheap, but I just wondered if there where other options out there or was it gonna pay off to spend the money.(that sounds funny, pay to spend) anyway I just figured that I would want to get the frame and suspension set up somewhere near the begining of this rebuild attempt.....thanks everyone

I was able to pick up an 83 jag XJS for $400. You can use both front and rear suspension and then part out other pieces to make some of your money back. You will want to find a series III jag. If you decide to this route search the board there are a lot of posts about suspension options and the jag in particular. The install is fairly straightforward as well. (at least for the front it seems)
Just my thoughts....

Looking at your gallery you have either a Ford 9" or 8" rear which you could use. If you buy a bare (no springs) frame you can use the rear and maybe the rear springs. For the front under a bonusbilt imho it is hard to beat the Jag IFS for cost, ease of installation and suitability for our trucks. You could also use a Jag rear, however installing the Jag IRS is not a trivial job. The IFS is a very straight forward job. Using the 289 I think will require the use of a rear sump and pump pickup (Bronco) however the log style exhaust manifolds should not be a problem. I don't have any idea about marriage of the steering column in your truck (something other than original) to the jag however the jag pinion on the steering rack is a common 3/4" x 48 spline (same as chxxy?)

So I am not sure what rear sump and pump means......sorry I don't know the terms yet....also, if I were to get a jag front end what kind of expense would I run into if it needed parts like bearings or brakes or anything like that...I wouldn't think jaguar parts were cheap new. I really don't know about that. I am sure you guys would know.

I got my frame yesterday and am very excited to get going on it.....this website helped me get it so thanks to everyone on here, I know they'll be more helpful things to come

Jag front end rebuild parts (DO NOT BUY FROM JAGUAR_AFTERMARKET ONLY) are just a little higher that US built cars. The priciest would be a rebuilt rack if if required. Inspection for leaks at the rack on the donor car will help. The oil pan on the sbf has a front sump (low point) which can be an potential interference with the Jag crossmember. Most cure this type of problem with the Bronco pan/oil pickup which has a rear sump. The sbc has a rear sump/ see mu gallery.

I say go for adapting something from a suitable and cheap donor vehicle. You can buy the whole thing for a fraction of what those notoriously over priced M-II packages cost and it real is not that much harder to install. Either way you are welding, cutting and re-emforcingn the frame.
