P.C.V. Valve
I have a 1994 F250 w/ the 300. I got a new P.C.V. valve the other day. When I looked at the valva tht is on my truck, I noticed that there is one hose running from the valve, from the lower hole in the elbow. Should there be a second hose running from the top hole or is the top hole just some sort of vent or intake for air?

If your new valve has that dual elbow, it should come with a little plug to cap off the smaller port. Some vehicles will run 2 hoses, but it you only have the one hose, then just plug the other port.

I have a newly acquired 1996 F150 /4.9L and I'm kinda flying blind at the moment on various aspects of the truck . I have a new PCV valve to install but can't seem to find the old one ? Have been told it's on the back of the valve cover underneath the intake manifold ? Is that correct ? If so , why did the Ford engineers put so many things where they are difficult to access ? My guess would be they don't work on their own vehicles ? On a related matter , I replaced the thermostat yesterday and when I went to replace the two heater hoses , I realized I didn't know for sure which went where ? I know it's a 50/50 % shot at getting it right but I'd like to know if I'm correct . As you stand in front of the truck looking at the hoses , where they come out of the firewall , which ( left or right ) goes to water pump or to thermostat housing ?
