4R100 problem
This morning after I started my Excursion V10 with 4R100 and pulled it out of the garage, the 'off' light on the shift lever started blinking on and off. I know this is not a good thing! The last couple of weeks, I noticed that it didn't shift into OD as readily as it should have, and suspected that something wasn't right. I checked the fluid, and it's not burned, and is on the full mark. I've got 28k on it, and am probably due to have it changed, but I don't think it's overdue.
I had a 46RE go bad on a '97 Dodge Ram with 18k on it. I don't think I'm hard on my trannys. This is starting to give me a complex!

Your trnasmission is in what's called "fail safe". the light on your shifter is like the check egine light for your transmission. YOu need to get it to a trans. shop, or dealer to have it scanned for codes
