cat delete/ test pipe?

cat delete/ test pipe?
i want to delete the cat but keep the stock exhaust. is there a test pipe that fits the stock diamater exhaust? i was planing on buying the test pipe and measuring it so then i cut the cat off at that length and use a band clamp to intall the test pipe. so when i go to get inspection i can just bolt/ band clamp the cat back in place. does anyone know what the stock pipe diamater is? i think its 3.5 but im not sure.
