So my 2000 Ex V10 sometimes (randomly) cranks forever but will not turn over. If I use the remote start at these times, the truck starts up fine without issue. Does it sound like a remote start issue?
Just talked to them. I am taking it in Saturday morning...Only thing is that it happens randomly so i am not sure i will be able to show them the issue
might be the chip inside the key. I have a spare key that has the chip removed and that key will get the engine to crank, but not start.
have you ever washed your keys before? I had mine in my jeans when I washed them and the key fob shorted out. worked fine but once in awhile the alarm would come on for no reason(panic button)

I suspected that. i have never washed them. I have a second key. i will try that one for a while and see what happens.
The problem is most likely with your PATS system. the remote start places a transponder right by the lock cylinder in the steering column to fool the PATS into thinking a correctly coded key is in the ignition. when you install the key it may be sending conflicting signals to the PATS transponder pickup..... Does your "Theft" light ever flash rapidly? (esp when it cranks and does not start) if so then its definitely the issue
well. i just went to the truck... it did the whole not wanting to start and theft flashed really fast. I waited like 1 minute, tried again and it worked...
Are you sure, on both my key's there is a small cover that pops off and the transponder will fall out, look close on the end next too loop and I think you will see the outline of a cover that pops off.
yep. took it to the alarm place today. They said the have to replace the remote start module but needed my spare key to program it. I left the spare key at home so i will take it back on Wednesday.
