Hot Fox

Is anyone running a Hot Fox in their Excursion's main fuel tank? I'm told that they are popular and a necessity when traveling through cold weather when #1 fuel is not a guarantee.

I have two main concerns; that the tank is plastic and may not seal even with the threaded install kit, and that the model I want, which is a thermostatically controlled heat exchanger, requires 4" of clearance for the hose fittings. For that much clearance I expect I will have to cut the hole through the side of the tank.

So for those running an Arctic Fox in tank heat exchanger, were you able to mount it through the top of the tank? If you went through the side, has it been durable and leakproof? Anyone using another type of in tank heat exchanger they highly recommend? I'm moving to Alaska in a few weeks and have to have it ready before I leave.

Thanks,
Matt

I figured there must be some Excursion owners who have a Hot Fox for a WVO conversion who can comment.
