oh yeah. The snow that I used in awd last night was sweet after I figured it out in a big parking lot then the 7" or so that we got of slush was the cherry on the top bonus with the way these tires break through the sht nicely as expected.
For this reason I'd like the microtuner to give just a little bit more umph, and next time I'll use 4hi vs. awd (for gas conservation's sake.)
When the front end reacts to the throttle given and engages the 4x4, is that very healthy for the truck/transfer case? Moreover is this a design flaw? I just didn't want to mess up the front axles by driving too fast and/or approaching dry pavement spots OCASSIONALLY where salt+wind had an effect. These are unanswered questions I have to better help conserve my truck. Thanks.
The 4x4 indicator light in my 99 expedition had what sounds like the same flashing problem. When in A4wd it flashed on and off continuously. I could still switch to 4Hi and 4low....both modes worked fine. I took it into a dealer in Utah that had done service on it before I bought it. They replaced two speed sensors on the transfer case and that solved the problem. Incidently, they told me that the flashing also indicated that the system had defaulted into 2 wheel drive.
