I had Infinity Kappa's in my 99 f-150 for six years and they were great. I now have Alpine SPR-57C in my truck now and they are really good. They really sound good with the Kenwood DVD/Nav system I have
but the problem is that I don't want to change the head unit...I guess I could just wire up a 4 channel, but that is a bit more then I would want to spend on it....I used to be real big into audo but I got away from it and am more focused on my car....but as much as I drive the truck I would like a decent sound in it...
They are 5 x 7's, Ford is a little strange on size. I use Crutchfield to get my speakers and you can put in the style of your truck and it will tell you what speakers fit.
OEM is 5 x 7's, but you can put 6 x 8's in also without much problems
All the times i have upgraded speakers and not the factory headunit i have only ever got a very minimal increase in sound quality and volume levels. But the times i have kept the stock speakers and changed the headunit i have got a massive improvement in Sound quality and volume levels.
