This is kind of a rant I guess! In the last 3 months I have had to replace a cracked windshield in my wifes SUV and now this morning I get to work and find one of my driving lights is busted! The culprit..... Surface treated state roads! I know that's what got the windshield and I am fairly certain that's what got my driving lights. In a ordinary case it wouldn't be so bad but PIAA no longer makes the style of driving/fog light combo I have. I have found one place online that says they have a set instock but its over $500 for them. I would just switch to something else but they fit so nicely in the location they are in and don't see spending that much on these lights AGAIN. I guess before I fly completely off the deep end I better call my insurance and see what they will do. Just had to vent a little.
That is all, carry on.
Just got off the phone with them and they don't really know what they are going to do about it but they are gonna have someone come look at them.
The whole surface treating of the road thing just gets under my skin. I mean what's the point in dumping tar on the road then pooring gravel on it?! Maybe I'm missing something but all it does is get tar all over your vehicle and cause problems like this! Not to mention chip the crap out of your paint.
