had to rebuild "my reverse only c6" myself because the mechanic who kept it for 3 weeks and took it 1/2 way apart left the state. i put in a "transgo heavy duty shift kit" during the rebuild it works fine except--to get it to downshift manually from 3 to 2 above 12 mph you have to blip the throttle. just pull it down to 2nd barely punch the throttle and it shifts into 2nd. if i do not give it a lil gas it coasts till about 12 mph b4 it shifts into 2nd then 1st at about 10mph. is this a sign i screwed up something during the rebuild?? thanks swampy
I had a similar prob a while ago.The prob ended up being a little flat spot on the detent roller that is mounted up in the case. What was happening is when the v.b linkage was moved it would move the spool enough to try to select 2 but wasn't moving enough to allow to 3rd gear oil to exhaust. This is all within the v.b.The best place to start is to check the linkage adjustment for each gear.
Some c6 v.b have the detent as part of the v.b and this cant really happen with that type. If you think this could be the prob i have some measurements for the spool valve in the v.b in each gear position. This will verify the manual spool valve is correct.
Hope that makes sense....
