i'm installing a 86' 302 whth a c6 trans. I have a volore clip installed.
The question is on Engine angle.. I hear 2 things,
level the carb. side to side and front to back..
OR..
Level the Carb side to side and slant the back 3 deg.
any Idea's which is more correct?
Level the carb and you will have the proper angle on the engine.
That's true for that engine in its original home. If he is wanting to match the stock F-1 engine's tilt, I'm pretty sure it's 3 deg back. That way it will match the pinion gear angle with no further shimming. Not sure I'd worry about a minor amount of carb tilt if the new engine was intended for some other angle.

the manifold should already account for the required angle, so level the carb mounting on the manifold and you should be good to go..
I'm with Sam. In all our engine builds of Pro Stock, Super Pro, and Sportsman cars, the carb mounting is always level. The rest of the engine ias always at an angle.
I'm with sam to, You can cheat a little but not to much with reg. carb that has float inside. fuel injection I don't no. If using fan that comes of off ingine watch out for angle to radiator try to keep them about the same , if electric I don't think that part will be a problem. Never had an electric fan , so unsure on that .
