Does anyone know if it possible to just replace the rubber gasket on the side mirrors on our trucks? Did some searching and didn't see any, but was just curious if it was possible. The mirror and housing is in great shape, just need a new rubber gasket. Thanks.
Ford offered FIFTEEN different outside mirrors for 1973/79 F100/350's.
Which type do you have?
Is this the passenger car type that has a rectangular head, mounts to the door with two screws, or is it something else?
If it's the car type, and you need the base gasket, how long is the base? There were two different types of these.
You can make your own gasket for the base of the mirror, just go to an autoparts store and buy some paper or rubber gasket material, it comes as a flat sheet, so cut it to fit.
If you need the gasket that surrounds the glass, it was only furnished with the mirror head, which was available separately on everything but the car type mirrors.
