Update to "White Smoke"

I installed the Gillett Diesel EGR delete kit this weekend (not hard but time consuming) along with oil change (Ford PSD 15-40) new fuel filters, air filter, complete case of carb/parts cleaner and 3 gallons of Gold coolant from the "stealership". After getting it together the initial startup scared me (rough with a skip and alot of white smoke) but after a few long minutes it smoothed out and ran good. I took it for a quick 10 mile drive, noticed improved throttle response less turbo lag and quieter engine. Got back and checked all fluids repeatedly, everything looked good with no leaks. Cleaned the truck up and took it out for a 60 mile trip just to see if evrything was good, no problems, stopped about half way and checked coolant. Had a burp and some white around the cap wiped it away and hoped for the best. Parked for the night, start up the next morning and the truck sounded weird! White smoke and no power, noticed glow plugs only stayed on for 1 second. Truck started but didn't sound right and was skipping, stepped on throttle and it straightened up. Smoke stopped shortly after and truck was running great. Have consistently checked coolant with no change, levels are where they are supposed to be. Drove the truck 350 miles and the coolant is perfect! No more "burping" and truck started perfect this morning... I want to thank Gillett Diesel and all who gave me input to what to look for and where my problems were going to take me. The head gaskets seem to be fine and I am hoping the smoke will not rear its ugly head again at least not til I recover some from the cost of this fix (1000). This website and its members saved me alot of time and aggravation!!!!! Thanks again
