JAT thank you for your responce,I LOVE your quote about the Iraqi.I had my brother driving it for me and I pulled on the door and it changed,so I a pretty sure it;s the doors,He has a 2001 also and has the same issue.thank you
No problem with the response, you will find this is a pretty decent site to hang with, alot of great people here.
As far as the rattle.. I have not needed to do this, but per the Haynes manual, it can be done, but to find th rattel, open the door first, see if you can lift the door at all.
that's the wierd thing about it,there is no play when I lift on the doors,This is a neat site although back about 8 years ago when I had my 94 f250 I got alot of responces and help resolving issues and i even helped some peoplep out,But now it seems like if your not a (supporter)you don't get the responce you did back then, people helping people,I have been contacted by other (supporters) and they were very short in what they had to say and just pushed me off to the none supporter forum "persay"so I am very thankfull that you a (supporter) has actually contacted me about my issue.thank you again.
I have opne door that has a slight rattle to it also, but Ill be honest, I havent had much time to worry about it, and it only rattles when it gets extremly bumpy, so its not always on my mind when I am doing repairs/maintenece.
Will be interested to see/hear how to adjust these doors. (although mine is a supercab, might be a little different.)
You won't get that from this forum. The 1999-2003 7.3 forum guys/gals are all really nice and happy to help, supporter or not. Don't sweat that at all.
I would never have expected that from this site, but possibly the "forum" you were in of the FTE, who knows, water under the bridge. I didnt become a supporter until I think 6 - 7 months after I joined..There was no need ot be a supporter, occasional pokes and jabs, but they were all in fun. But as many have said, with the money I would have spent in repairs ( i spent in mods ) makes the site worth while..Then the friends made.. You can not put a $ amount to it..
Okay, so no lift.. So, I am guessing the adjustment might need to be in the latch, loosen the three torx bits, and tap slight towards the outside skin of the door. This should make the door pull tighter against the truck..
Thanks for all the help,I will try that, but I don't think it moved when I loosened them or the post on the truck, maybe I'll just take a screw all the way out and look in there.Yea i might become a member to this site, however with the tough times I have to be a little more conservative about where my $'s go,I am a proud member of the NRA and have been for 5 years and do what I can to keep our 2nd ammendments rights, which I am sure you know is a constant battle. You guys are great, thanks for the input,I feel like there is some little secret about the doors and I won't give up till I figure it out, there are more important things to ponder on but I am keeping this one on the list.
Well your right, things are different on this forum, people helping people instead of catagorizing the income bracket of the members or guests,I mean I run a business and I understand it takes money to keep things roll'in,but ALL of my customers in the 20 plus years of my business are equal to me,small fish grow into bigger fish.thank you again for you guys kindness

A friend with a 99 crew cab told me he put electrical tape around the post as a temporary fix. Just a few wraps and it did the trick. May have to re-apply from time to time but cheap fix?
Hey Mike thanks,I did that on my 94,caurse they were actual posts and not these newer smaller cheaper styles, good Idea though,if that works i should be able to just replace them and it will work,I think my brother did that though and it did not work,it is hard to tell if they are worn enough to cause this,I will really check em out.thank you.
