Still cant get reverse
I have a Ranger 4x4 XLT 1999 Auto.

I still have all the gears but reverse, somthing intresting though:-staun
When I cleaned out my tranny filter I found a piece of a seal
that looks like one of those teflon seals.
Where could that come from
Any help would still be cool, tranny fluid was not burnt, have all gears but R, will only move when idle and in 4x4low, NO GAS
Please help, I'm not giving up

I too am no expert, and wouldn't really know where to start, but you could see if there's a way to check if the valve for that clutch pack is blown. Other than that, I really wouldn't know. Sorry man.

It came from either the high/reverse clutch or more likely the reverse servo.
You need a total teardown to fix this. It isn't a job for an inexperienced person.
