i took off the front bumper is there a certain place to cut the frame that it was bolted too and shoud i put something connecting them to make up for the lost bumer/ frame section
I'm thinking he wants to dump his bumper and run without one, if that is the case just cut the frame horns off behind the gravel pan and fill the holes in the pan. You could beef it up by bolting a stiffener between the frame rails. I'll be running my panel without a front bumper as well but mostly because I have no frame protruding through the gravel pan as it sits.

As mentioned above just cut the frame just inside the gravel pan you could cut it back far enough and put a piece of steel beam that will run the length of the gravel however it will be behind the gravel pan to provide protection. I haven't had a front bumper in 20 years on my truck I cut mine and am planning on putting the caddy bumper on later, it will allow for the plates to be seen due to it being two pieces. There is a member on the board who is currently putting one on his truck however I can't remember his name.
the main reason im taken mine out is the bumper was pretty bent up
ty panel
Bumpers are available from many vendors unless you're wanting to go for the clean and smooth look. I found the the original bumper was pretty flimsy and that the corners could be bent fairly easy and crumpling the fenders and gravel pan, so either way you'll be doing some fixing up one way or another, there's always pros and cons. If you have a certain look in mind of the way you want your truck to look don't let anyone sway you one way or another unless it's a safety factor. Enjoy your build.
