I somehow missed this response and yet been waiting for one, my truck does not have coil springs on the furthest position of cab but uses some sort of swingarm deal instead, assuming all F-7 and F-8 are same. The rest of the mounts forward including under the rad. supt use little coil springs ( look like small valve springs ) to cushion cab shock I guess. I need to know how the arrangement went.

The 49-51 Shop Manual, page 317 has a good illustration of the cab mounts.

Here the cab mounts. The front mounts use the coil springs, looks like, in order from the bottom, the nut, metal washer, coil spring, round rubber washer, body mount, square rubber washer, cab. I did not take it apart to verify that, so subject to correction

And the rear cab mount:

Thats a great picture, just cant seem to figure out how the rubber washer holds up against that spring, must be a metal washer between them somewhere I guess?

I don't claim intimate knowledge of the bigger trucks, but I've never seen the springs used on the cab. Those look to be the radiator saddle springs, maybe someone figure it was a good idea?

The rear arms look the same as the 1/2-tons, at least conceptually. Or is that a 1/2-ton?

The pics are from a 52 F7. I didn't realize the front cab mounts used springs either, until Jason asked the question and I crawled under and looked......

Yep, I am sure also they belong there, they were in a box of parts I received with the truck and prev. owner said he took them off, dont really see much of a difference on anything but as long as they are there I might as well put them back
