Ok now how do I get the outer race? off? I took off the 8 bolts and I have put the that part that uses the special socket back on and I have been trying to pull, hit it off with a gear puller and a big hammer for the last 4 hours. Am I missing something?

What are you trying to get off? The races are inside the rotor, so I doubt that's what you mean.
I got it finally, maybe its called a spindle. Anyway I beat with a BFH and a block of wood for about 3.5 hours. That sucked. Now day 3 I'm trying to figure out how to press in the upper ball joint. I have the press tool but it does not seem big enough.
Cuz your trucks 21 years old. that spindle probably hasnt been off in the last 10 years. what tool did you get? They make 2 versions of the tool, one is made primarily for ricers, the other for larger cars and trucks.
and should well exceed the size required for any full size pickup.
Not only does it work on ball joints, I use it for u-joints and suspension pivot bushings.
