wow.. a year since last post.. have been tied up with the red 56, and haven't put any real work into this for a long while now..

I did finally decide to forget the 5.4l 3v engine as too difficult to get to run standalone, and found a 4.6l 32v, dohc engine & trans instead.
(even made unexpected money on the 5.4l!)..

Wow that crossmember looks good better than the one I just built, mine looks like it belongs to a rock crawling buggy!

I have been checking from time to time on your sons build......You must be proud of him! not only a great builder but good grades too.

Oh yea dont waste any money building a place to park the green truck. I have two buildings here at my house we can park it in!

Thanks for the kind words. Son also designed and built the crossmember.
We have a lot to do on his build too. The engine mounts should be here in a week or so and then I can get the drivetrain installed.

I don't know if the green truck knows how to get to Mississippi!

finished by now..............just kidding...could you PLEASE leave a FEW
parts & trucks for the rest of us?.......

Stock rails, but fully boxed.

Hey Sam, Kinda off topic but I was wondering if you could give me an measurement from your green truck? I like the ride height of your truck. Im looking for the distance from rear end to bottom of the frame at ride height.

I'm going to be welding on the top air bag mounts next time I get the chance to work on mine.

Sorry, which measurement?

I put the bags down when I stop somewhere.

At ride height, axle to frame (as if there was no c-notch or bump stop)

ok, finally got to this.. 1.25 inches from top of axle tube to bottom of chassis as if no C notch were present.

at ride height..

two other measurements..

1. top of front bed rail at ride height is 40 inches from ground
2. rear fender opening top of opening is at the top of the wheel.
pic below
