Flywheel tooth count
Does anybody know off hand the tooth count for a manual transmission 4 speed? Its from a 68 F 250 with a 302 bolted on. Im trying to find a starter that will fit and not drag. This starter cannot be shimmed so is there another way to stop it from dragging?

302 engines were not factory installed in F250's until the 1980's.
302 engines were not available with 4 speed manual transmissions until the 1980's.
The number of flywheel teeth is specific to certain engine sizes.
Examples: 1969/72 302 3 speed manual: 164 teeth / 1965/67 352 & 1968/76 360/390: 184 teeth.
The flywheels bolt circle pattern pertains to whatever the size of the pressure plate is.
Examples: 1969/72 302: 12 3/8" / 1965/67 352 & 1968/76 360: 12 3/8" / 1968/76 390: 12 7/8"
The transmission itself has nothing to do with it.
