m5r2 stick shift issues help!
i have a 1990 f250 with the m5r2 manual trans. i am trying to do a shifter repair kit because the shifter is so sloppy. my issue is how do you get out bolt that seperates the shift stick from the shift ball at the bottom. the bolt goes through and holds it in, but there is no head on the bolt just threads. ive tried backing a nut against andother nut but it wont budge. any ideas thank you guys

Isn't the "m5r2" manual trans. the MAZDA brand trans?
Which I though only came in F-150s. I got it that the F-250 and F-350 used the heavier duty ZF 5 speed box, with it's GRANNY LOW first gear.
If you have a Granny Low fisrt gear, then I believe you have a ZF trans, not a Mazda (unless I missed a meeting?).
Or it's been swapped in later....
