why did you go with the plate that you had to cut the box out for?
I'm running high-jacker hitches and i love them because you just put the rails on your truck and then can use the hitches on multiple trucks.

true enough cutting in a hole isnt my idea of fun, I do however like the idea of having the hitch plate directly mounted to the truck frame with no possiblitly of the bed warping and still detachable. Also this hitch has the ball able to fold down flush with the box floor so in a minute the box can be used without having mounts sticking up.

Yeah the fold down option is really neat.

Did ya get to use the plasma cutter for this project?

Oh ya I used the plasma for the first time., Id still be grinding if I use the old acetylnye.
I went a lil overkill on the plate material 2-3/16 inch plate is quite heavy, but better to be overkill then undershot.

How did ya like the plasma?

Never hurts to go a little overkill. Better to be safe then sorry.
