I took all the measurements off of my stock arms and ordered the bushings at my local AutoZone.

My arms are made and are currently at the powerder coaters. They have been there for 3 weeks but they are supposed to be done sometime this week. I will post up some pics when they are done.

Reading this thread... just a note from experience...
My garage is undergoing a revamp and my tools are everywhere except where I need them to be. That being said, I have been lax in my maintenance of our 99 Expy. The wife was out driving and stepped hard to stop at a light. The lowers, which were rusted (obviously more than I knew), snapped. The axle rear wrapped under and pulled the driveshaft & tailshaft out. I had the uppers and lowers changed, and thankfully, no permanent damage to the shafts or rear. The ends needed to be torched to get them out. This is definitely an important inspection point. As to the vibration mentioned, yes - I heard the same. These arms were modified to help reduce the vibration over 70, but be forewarned... it will not completely alleviate it, but it will get better.

Thumbs up Aftermarket Trailing Arms

You guys aren't going to believe what I found. I searched for Expedition Trailing Arms on Google and found a place that makes a killer product at a great price. I received my arms last week and installed them yesterday with out any problems. They are well built. I can't believe I almost paid retail for the ones from Ford. You have to check these out if you are in need of these.

Thanks 1expy, they look much better than stock and maybe with the boxed design and powder coat finish they won't rust out.

i had to tell somebody!!! these are the best available and they offer lots of colors and options for customization. they are a full box, not a channel so they are sealed from the elements. i am sure they will work great for you! we are very happy.

Seen those PMT's on ebay a while back. Look like a good product.

Still havn't got mine back from the powder coater yet. Doesn't matter though, I just totaled my '01 expy last sunday.

Picked up my new to me '03 F-250 Extended Cab V10 6-speed manual 4X4.

The Expy will be missed though. Damn nice truck.

See the pic I attached. Both my Rear Lower Control Arms snapped on my 98 XLT. I was not aware of how bad they were rusted but I put the truck in park and heard a loud POP and truck started rolling down hill. I looked underneath and the Driveshaft Yoke snapped off the differential and both lower arms were broke in half. I assume that when the arms snapped the rear shifted down and snapped the yoke. I towed the truck to my friends shop and replaced the lower and upper rear control arms and U-joint and Yoke that snapped off. I got all my parts at -25% from dealer under friends shop and it still set me back $800 for all the parts. The lower control arms sell for $175 each at Ford. The uppers sell for $147 each (I replaced mine since they were pretty rusted and I already had my whole rear taken apart). The Yoke that holds the rear U-Joint was $40 and $30 to have a shop press the U-joints for me. That, plus new endlinks for rear swaybar, synthetic gear oil for rear end (I opened to inspect for damage) and other misc. stuff ran me around $800. Truck feels much better now that all is changed. I plan on doing the fronts when the weather gets warmer since the control arm bushings look worn out. I suggest anyone that lives in states that use heavy road salt inspect before they fail.

From what I've seen and read the stock trailing arms don't seem to be all that cracked up either.

There is a company that sells really nice replacement control arms on ebay. I don't know how they are priced compared to others but they look like they are nice pieces. The company name is PMT fabrication.
