Everyone has their favorite tire brand and I personally do not like Goodyears. Their rubber compound is to soft. Where I live we have large sharp rocks and lugs of tires rip off. I get the best mileage and wear with BFG KO tires. My truck came with the wranglers and I got about 25000 out of them. BFG's ever since and I get about 40,000 out them with regular rotations. I have never ripped a lug on BFG's. In my opinion they are the best off road/on road tires ie. All terrain and Muds.
I have not tried goodyears in a few years but I know our work trucks use the Wrangler RSA' s I believe and we get about 30,000 out of them on average with light off road use.
For mostly on road they may be fine.

Reason: mispelled
I have nitto terra grapplers on my truck with a little over 20k on them and have been very happy, Still a lot of tread left and are great in all conditions. Since I run a 305/70/16 which are load range E, that may make a difference.
I have the Nitto Terra Grapplers on mine now too. The Goodyear's look a little more aggresive. My truck's a 2000 and all stock w/the 5.4. I can't afford to do any mods to it, but I can justify needing new tires.
My truck is 2wd and doesn't see snow, but plenty of wet driving during the winter. I had Goodyear somethingorothers on there for a while and the truck was dangerous in wet weather. I did some research on Tirerack.com and purchased a set of Pirelli ATRs and couldn't be happier with them. They are excellent in the dry and the wet, and my driving is mostly on mountain roads where I tend to not slow down even in wet weather. They solved all my grip problems. I have a Jeep too, and put a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos on this year after reading really good things about them. I had the BFG KOs prior which I hated in the wet. The BS tires were about $50/corner more expensive than the same size BFGs, but are supposed to be much better all around. BS had a rebate going when I got them so the price was close to go with the "better" tire. So far I like them a lot in the dry, no wet weather here for many months yet, so I cannot comment there. It's a good looking tire and handles great in the dry, lots of stick and comfortable ride. I see them on lots and lots of vehicles around.
Revo's are very nice but I am not sure they are worth all the extra money. I've had bad luck with Goodyear Wrangler AT and BFG TA/KO's, currently I am running Toyo Open Country's and they are one of the best tires I have used. They are my 7th or 8th set of tires and might be the first that I put back on again when they are done.
