I was in the process of ordering my ball joint kit for my 2000 7.3 excursion when i realized that FTEparts guy is not accepting any orders. Im going on vacation in a week and a half so im trying to hunt down the kit elsewhere. Any one have any suggestions??? Thanks
I would go with XRF units myself, which is what I just ordered. They are supposed to be machined to extremely high precision specs, and I've heard excellent things about them. I know for a fact that there is not nearly as much "slop" in the joint because I cannot even move them with my hands at all. They come complete with serviceable zerk fittings as well.
Price... same as Moog or better (something like $25-$28 each)
Not sure... you should call them and ask about your particular vehicle. For my 2002 2WD F250, I got the upper and lower units as well as the adjustable camber bushing, and the delivered total was something like $85 IIRC - driver side.
If I'm not mistaken, though, the XRF's ar emuch better quality at much lower prices than the OEM units. I know that the Powerstroke Shop prices for one side upper and lower ball joints for my truck is something like $132 plus S&H, while the XRF units were only about $57 plus S&H.
Last time I looked I thought they sold Moog's in that kit, along with all the required parts/accessories. I could be wrong though. I like being able to purchase all the seals and ball joints all at once. Just a lot easier for me!
I got the Moogs greasables but camodown and Pete's new find's sounds very interesting. Also, FTE Parts Guy Ed got Motorcraft greasables now, bunch of places to browse.
