Transmission swap
Hi, I currently own a 2004 f 350 dually 6.0l diesel. with a 5 spd automatic transmission. I want to swap it out with a 6 spd manual. Does anyone have any clue as to what is needed. Transmission part numbers anything? Ford dealer was not much help. Do i need to change rear end or driveshaft? Any info would help greatly

I'd wager that the driveshaft is a different length. The PCM will need some work, it's expecting to control the automatic transmission so when it doesn't receive the correct inputs from it, you will throw codes. Ideally the manual is a simple swap, put in a flywheel, clutch, slave cylinder, master cylinder, pedal and the transmission. However you will have to get around the computer. The easiest method I can think of is to get a donor PCM with your options except for manual transmission.
