anyone got a tach sensor?
does anyone have an extra tach sensor laying around?i just dont want to blow 80 bucks for one.mine is about done for.the wires are bare at the base so i need to get it out of there.or know any junk yards that ship?oh i put a stack on my truck today.ill post pics tomorrow.thanks for any help.oh and will a sensor off a 1990 non turbo with a 5 speed fit?mine has the serpentine belt and not the v-belt.im sure it makes no difference though

Do a search in this forum for "tach sender part number", you'll find it that way. Search that part number and you're good.
Trying to just search by vehicle and part name on those sites is completely useless.

You can put a VSS sensor out of an Eaton trans. What I mean is if you are near a big truck parts place you can pick one up there. They are the same thread as your motor. You would have to adjust it but all you do is screw it in till it touches the gear then back it out 1/4 to 1/2 turn and hook the wires up.
Just an idea. Point is that these sensors aren't anything special and you have other options.
