I've just bought an 00 F350SD, auto, 4x4, 7.3 last week and it only blows cold air, no matter where the temperature **** is set to.
I have a thread in the Super Duty section too and someone thought my temp gauge might be sitting too low so I thought I'd check here and see where it should be.
Mine sits at 1/3 once it warms up and never moves from there. Is this normal or should it be higher?
The only answer I have is that the guage is really just an idiot light. It gets to that point and never changes until it is too late. Not sure on why the lack of heat. Bad heater core? Thermostat stuck open?
I'm only asking the question to get an idea where most on them sit, to rule out the thermostat (stuck open or not there). This is my first diesel and not sure if they run cooler, hotter or the same as a gas engine.
I don't think it's the heater core as both of the heater hoses are hot and about the same temperature.
