Checked fuses and replaced bulbs but the left side tail lights are still not working. The front turn lighs and mirror lights work but the running/brake or turn signals are working on the left side. Could someone give me an idea of where to look for this problem?
So, on the left rear light assembly, nothing works? How about the backup light? Sort of sounds like a ground issue on that one fixture. Has there been any work done back there around the bumper or fixture?
I didnt think to see if the back up lights work. There has been no work done back on that side of the truck nor anywhere on the back. Where would that side of the lights be grounded? It wouldnt hurt to check that out.
I guess my next step would be to pull the connector off of the fixture, and check to see if you are getting voltage at the connector. I'm looking at the schematic, and I don't see anything that would break both parking and brake lights, and nothing that would break parking on one side but not the other.
If you don't have voltage at the connector, with a VOM from the pins to ground, then you will have to trace that wiring loom forward. You might have a body connector that has come disconnected. The front parking lamps, the clearance lamps if you have them, the mirror clearance lamps, are all one circuit with common fuse, so it almost has to be a wiring problem or a lamp fixture problem.
