also does the 9 in rearend come in low and high gears if so is there a away to tell the difference
There are probably more gear ratios available for the 9" than any other axle. If the tag is gone from it & you need to know for sure I'd take it out. You can count turns but thats never for sure.
As for the 9, yes, many many ratios availble, a sample here:
