when i eventually get a 78-79 f150/250, ill swap whatever engine that's in it to the 460. what do i need to do for this to work? i know the tranny will work, but engine mounts, headers, vacuums, everything electrical? do i need to change anything or can it just be dropped in and hooked up? ive never done anything like this i an completely new so any info will be great...thanks in advance
If its going into a 4x4 you will need adapter type mounts that fasten to the block, which will mount to the OEM frame horns. If using an auto trans, you will need the passing gear kick down rod, its longer. You will need truck or van exhaust exhaust manifolds, if your not using hedders. Car ones hit the frame on the passenger side, do not notch the frame to use them.
The big radiator will be suffecient, you will need a truck 460 fan shroud of that era. They were in 2 wheel drive F-150's/250's/350's of that era. Accesory brackets, etc.
Electrical is plug and play, sending units, coil harness.
