AOD adjustment
http://www.txchange.com/aodadj.htm
with great info on adjusting the TV cable on my AOD.
It was shifting into OD with a "bump-bump" and shifting down on only slight effort on the pedal. After several trials of adjusting the cable and test-driving the truck, I got it set up where it shifts smoothly but not "squshy", even into OD, and will stay in the higher gear slightly longer so that pulling a slight incline won't force a downshift.
Downshifting is easily achieved by a little more throttle pressure when desired.
I have traditionally been a clutch and shift person, still preferring that over the automatics. But that choice is not always available so I was glad to find the info and get the shift more to my liking.
