Can anyone tell me where I can find there email address or fax info? I have issues with a local dealership that's not going well at all. Ford says it's a workmanship issue and I have to take it back to the same idiots that screwed my truck up. This has been going for two months and $2000 later, no progress. any help would be greatly appreciated.
You guys? Ok... Well I have an 04 F150 FX4. The dealership broke the plugs off, pull the heads for repair, replaced the intake with a used intake, broke several connectors and i get a P0305 error under hard acceleration or cruising in top gear. I have 7 pages of data documenting this situation. Since I maybe taking legal action, i dont want to completely show my hand just yet.
Have you talked with the Regional Ford rep and/or Ford Customer Service? I'd probably be trying to get the CEO email address as well but, he's been too busy on cloud nine riding all the free press Ford is getting these days because they didn't take a gov't bailout...and they're not going into bankruptcy. If you have already gone through Ford proper you will probably be going to small claims court.
I'm currently doing a complaint against my local Dealership myself. The BBB will send you a packet of information. In this, they give you the entire contact info for Ford Corporate, and the local Dealership.
In addition, most reputable Dealerships have entered into Arbitration Agreements with the BBB. So if you have documentation to prove your side, the BBB can and will force that Dealership to correct the issue.
Good luck. I know how much it sucks dealing with incompetant Dealers...shame that 1-2 hundred bad apples ruin the 1-2 actual goods ones you find in a Blue Moon
I have contacted Customer Service on at least three occasions with the same outcome. The dealerships are independently owned and operated and they cant force them to do anything, just submit my complaint and monitor. There seems to be no checks and balances between Ford and the dealerships. She couldn't answer my question on how do confirm they do the right thing? I have submitted a complaint with the BBB. I was trying to resolve this quickly but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. The owner of the dealership has told me that if I have another dealership work on it, it's on me to pay them, he will not pay them. This has been a horror story from the start. If you only knew all the details. I've also contacted a local news agency and a lawyer, neither has gotten back to me as of yet.
LOL. I will use every avenue available to bring this to the attention of the world to get my truck back to the condition it was the day I drove it in for service!
Sorry about the "You Guys", just lately there have been several posts asking questions about a truck with no more info than it is a Ford.
Is this extended warrenty work or did you pay for it? I dont think a dealership would install a used part ( from another vehicle ) with out prior approval due to the liability to the part.
Odd that the Paper nor a Attorney is not interested in this??? Do you have a history with this Dealer?
I paid for this. The news hasn't responded yet but they get a ton of request, so it may take time. No history. I watched them do it on two occasions and the mechanic told me he swapped the intake out becasue he didn't know what the previous guy did. The intake had road grime, oil and just plain dirty. They don't ship them that way new.
And no i didnt say it was okay to use used parts. I just wanted my truck fixed and would address those issues once it was running correctly. Unfortunately, it never got to that point. They just easter egged me to death!
Just curious where you from? We got a local dealership that they take their mary old time in the service department. But their sales people are amazing. They got a sweet new showroom cause the old one the roof collapsed in a snow storm 2 years ago and missed a gt500. I would buy from them but warranty I wouldnt take it there. My dads buddy had his old powerstroke in there it was in there for 3 weeks he went there to see about it and the service manager said it would be another 2 weeks and my dads buddy jumped over the counter and was ready to beat him up. Thats how bad their service dept. is. Where I bought my truck in the next town over both the sales and service have been great people.
I hate that game, the mfgs are so insulated, and you're on your own to bargain with the dealership, or appeal to your salesguy, use Ford customer service to find your regional rep like someone earlier wrote, that would be my next step, or show up tomorrow with a giant pickit sign that reads"Don't Buy Here", that would be awesome
This is one of those issues I think needs to be addressed in a "Consumer Bill of Rights". The "it's a dealership issue, not a Ford issue" is wrong. Dealerships are representatives of the Ford Motor Company in my opinion and are no different than contractors to the larger parent company as far as I'm concerned.
Update; I finally got in touch with a person from the corporate office, very close to Mr. Alan M. Hopefully this will get the attention required to be resolved quickly
