It's just CRAZY! With all the crap I've been through... My insurance inspector said theres a 98% chance they're going to total my vehicle. As of right now, exterior damage is at 13.5K and rising. This does not include any mechanical damage or interior.
I told the dealership I want an 08 Limited. We'll see what happens...
normally I'm all about avoiding the 1st yr model trucks...but to be honest, the 2009's are 08's refreshed. the only new component is the tranny, which was test-bedded in the 07-08 Expy (like mine).
They are so badass. I'm seriously wishing I could pick one up.
I'm guessing that lot has a 08 Limited you are after?
Here's my thinking, I like the 04-08 body style but love the 09 interior. I'm not thrilled about the exterior like the 04-08. However if they SVT the new body style then I'll trade up. Maybe the craziness of the situation is rubbing off on me. LOL. They don't have one and I found about 10 available. So they'll have to get it or fly me out to drive it back. I could you use long drive... LOL
Now check this out. While my truck was in the collision center being evaluated, someone decided that the Alpine in dash dvd/Sat/HD radio would be better somewhere else. LOL. I told the Adjuster he should check to see if the SAT reciever and HD tuner are still there. He actually called me and asked if I took it. It doesnt matter very much at this point but I don't think I've ever been involved in so much crap...
All I need now is for the police to kick my door in looking for the ATM. I'm buying a YUGO! LOL.
Well, he asked me if I took it. Now he was with me the whole time, so for him to call me and ask me that kinda pissed me off but I remained calm. It's something to say the least.
I just test drove the 09 Platinum. Very nice inside. Huge difference compared to my FX4. I think I'll go for the 09 but they have to damn near give it to me...
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't you have a 04? Why would Ford give you anything? You will have to battle the Insurance companys on this and lawyer up, all you are owed is the ACV ( actual cash value) of your truck. If by a stroke of luck you had a stated value insurance policy, you may be entitled to more money but to expect to get a 09 to replace a 04 is optimistic. Hope it works out for you but the Insurance companys have lots of time and money and the burden is on you.

I thought the dealer's insurance had gotten involved at this point? So maybe the dealer still "owed" the $2000 in services and a new *free* motor in a truck that was sitting in thier shop.
Maybe I missed something or i'm thinking too much into the situation...
Okay. The dealer insurance company(ford or whatever) has been out of sight. The only insurance that's working this is mine as crazy as that is. I questioned my adjuster about this since my truck was stolen in the dealership's possesion. He said he wasn't sure and maybe they'll go after ford for whatever money they pay me. The new and services has not been paid and I'm sure they'll use their insurance to recoup that money. They have not requested a dime from me and at this point I think their nervous about being sued by me. They did leave the keys in the vehicle. If they didn't I would be driving my truck with a new motor loving life.
On the 04 for an 09 comment. I too, think it's a little much to ask for a free 09 as replacement. However, I feel they should give me the best damn deal ever. I'm a ford family plan member which means I get a very good discount right off the top but they have to do better than that. Considerably better. Maybe if I sue I would get a new truck free after all I've been through?
Let me get this straight. Your truck was in the dealer's service department overnight with the keys in it, it was stolen during a break-in and burglary at the dealer, and the dealer or their representative haven't made any good faith attempt to settle with you yet? I probabaly would be seeing an attorney for advice by now and perhaps have a letter written to the dealer by him that you do expect to be compensated for your loss that occurred while your truck was in their control in a timely fashion. I really wouldn't want to have to sue, but I would expect them to do more than they have so far. Maybe a letter from an attorney would speed things up some for you and maybe not. But I darn sure would be making some noise to the owner(s) of the stealership.
