Fluid capacity

Mornin' guys! I need to change my oil and will have to refill my trans after I get the new VB in. How many quarts of engine oil and ATF do I need? Also, you guys seem to like Rotella Dino and Mercon V is our ATF?

Roughly 4 gallons, 15 quarts and you'll have an extra quart of oil. Rotella is good, readaly avail. Your trans takes 18 quarts with a flush. Just changing out the pan its about 6-8 quarts. I just changed out my pan fluid cause i,m getting a full flush soon, a friend of mine got the machine, no mess..Make sure you have a ft pounds and a inchpounds torque wrench when we do the swap, I had to borrow them..

Tranny holds 16.9 qts. I used 19 for a full flush.

Alright, I'll have to get an in/lb torque wrench. I know this has been discussed and I know I am going to get a butt load of answers, but what is the best oil in your opinions?

Ive never used anything but Rotella in my truck for the last 10 years. 1st oil analysis from BS showed awesome results so Im not going to switch anytime soon. Rotella dino, not synthetic for me.

Any Rotella is good, I run synthetic for the extended drain intervals and smoothness but I just switched over to the Schaeffers 9000 syn two changes ago, its all good.

I'd like to. Me and Mike are running into some scheduling issues.

Not sure, waiting to hear back from Mike. He's busy off and on with the family this week. I'm waiting to hear from Clay to find out when the rest of my parts will be in. Only problem is, after this week I'm not sure when I will be available as I go back to shift work. We'll figure something out though
