Just do what ya gotta do on the truck as needed and see what happens, you can also see if you can get the same type truck wrecked or whatever for parts as needed. Good luck with the project.
did someone think that if they put boat fuel in car that it would float like peter griffin thought putting jet fuel in his truck would make it fly. there's your humor right there.
I am now curious here, how did you get it in the Lake? Was Bud driving? Or maybe Jose Q? Or maybe, who was she?
I did this back in the early 70's with my ole F-250. Back then we dried it out, new distributor, new wires, changed the oil, poured some Heet down the throat of the carb and in the tank, and took off. Now days, wiring and computers kill the moment!
Now THERE are some ford owners that I'm talking about!
If I get this sucker running again, I'm gonna stuff her *** full of styrofoam and float myself out next time. Thanks Guys and Girls!

Well, Guys and Gals,
A new computer did not save my soul from punishmet from the angry Ford Gods. My baby is a the Golden dealership in the sky awaiting healing hands. Keep all informed of the fate of the Floating Ford. Well, more of a sinking F150. Say a prayer for her recovery. I await the garage doors to roll open in three days and all will be well.

I appreciate the humor. Dude I've done some stupid stuff. As for the truck, I know the water was there but, how did you blow the motor and what did you do to fix the motor. I would look at whats been done post-splash as a possible problem.
I have been a tech for decades and I can assure you that the guys working on your truck will be having a good laugh off of you when you go to get the thing - fixed or not. I mean it when I say that a tech will have a hard time caring for your car if you don't care for it either. They will patch it up knowing you probably won't be back.
As the last person in a convoy of Jeeps, I had to carry the Ford badge to the bitter end which was a lake that all the automatics cleared. Ford clutches don't like water, so, she went nose down like the titanic. The Mobile 1 went out with the tide, thus, the dreaded engine knock. Sigh. This fun happened 6 months ago. Bought a new engine from power train products, with all new sensors. Great place. I still have some growing pains, the truck also. And I lied my *** off to the mechanics, told them I was out of work and my 50 year old wife was pregnant with our 5th water headed child. I pray for sympathy.
Which sensors show no signal? I'd start with the harness that contains those wires. You may have to unwrap the entire harness to dry everything out.
So every sensor was new on this new engine?
I would then call the guy who built Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Dick Van Dyke, right) he made a floating car. I'm sure he can give you some tips for your rebuild.
chitty, chitty bang bang in what it sounds like.
I will update Mon. or Tues on what the guru's say at Ford.
Keep your fingers crossed for me to get a break. I had the engine
in my Caddy CTS toss a rod with 50, 200 miles on it. $4000 down the pipe, then the truck, then a 1000$ rear end for my 96' Impala SS.
Gee, I'm having fun now! Pity the poor.

You can lie to the techs all you want, they know what happened, or at least know that your decieving them. I'm glad to know that Ford clutches don't like water - if i ever own a stick shift Ford, I will be sure not to drive it into a lake.
Good luck
Never underestimate the power of a good, evil, self serving lie.
No, Ford makes good trucks but a really crappy boats.
Its been 6 months, all the VISABLE water and mud has dried up and fallen off. I'm 50 years old. Way to old and wise to drive into a small inland sea.

Update on the love boat.
Had to give up and use the dealer man. Found a burned part in the wiring harness. How wet things burn, I have no idea Anyway fixed that then the fuel pump was only putting out 15psi. Not enough to keep the raging 4.2 running. A new ford pump was 450$. I puked on the phone. I bought a auto wizard pump for 100$ and install was 70$ Does it run?
More on that later..... stay tuned to the saga of the great white ford.

THE GREAT WHITE WHALE RIDES AGAIN!
Found (dealer) a shorted wire bundle due to touching manifold a bad fuel pump and regulator. Now, the ford Gods smite my speedometer and odometer. They read nothing even beating on it fails to help. Any body got a idea how to attack this problem?
