No trailer brakes - fuse?

Ok, just returned from 5k mile trip with my kids and had 24 hrs to get unpacked then re-packed and hook up 5ver for 800ish mile trip to Kansas City for work.

Everything great until I pull out of drive - no trailer brakes. I usually get a green light (Tekonsha Voyager controller) and I got nothing. Trailer lights appear to be working OK - actually, I only checked flashers and running lites now that I tink about it...

What fuse is for brakes (customer access bundle)?

What pin on 7 pin connector is hot all the time? What fuse is that on?

2001 F350 in sig.

An owners manual would be handy for this sort of thing.

Thank you Jim! reps sent.

All fuses check out - guess that was too easy. Power to controller, so looking at wires now...

Your welcome Jason and thanks for the reps. Check your fuses under the dash with a test light. I'm not to sure where the contriller gets it's power from. I'll check into it in a bit.

I'm currently chasing the same ghost with my Tekonsha brake controller. I found the 30a maxi fuse under the hood blown, but I replaced it and it still doesn't work. Haven't found a wiring issue yet, so I'm looking at new controllers. Been running the same one since 95, so it's had a good run.

All fuses checked w/ test lite - under dash and hood. Following 12v wire back into harness lookin for its source.

I guess this controller is 9+ yrs old and been in over 1/4 million miles now???

Could be that the controller went kaput. Mine crapped out some time ago. One day no lights or anything.

When I probe blue wire from controller - it appears to complete ground and brakes/controller working...

I'll check all the grounds tomorow. Thanks again guys!

I had bought a camper and my truck at the same time and the trailer lights didnt work or anything else. I checked everything and all the wires looked good. The truck worked on the other trailers so i figured what the heck to change the plug on the camper. Sure enough fixed the problem.

I just went thru similar problems recently. I had no running lights on the camper but the electric brakes, turn signals & lights worked.. I had everything tore apart trying to find the problem. Turned out I had a nick in the wire about 2 inches from the plug & the wire corroded thru.

To start our current trip out in a bad way, we were all hooked up & going down our street & at the first stop sign, the 5ver was pushing me out into the intersection The brake controller wasn't activating with the brake pedal but would work with the slider ****. Less than a minute into the trip & we were back in the driveway. This time, it turns out the connection from the brake lamp wire to the controller pulled apart.. most likely when putting things back together from troubleshooting the running light problem.

Thank goodness that was the last problem & we are now in the OBX enjoying the sun & sand !!!
