Big part change, well I took out my stock turbo last weekend, and ended up getting a van turbo to replace it. While putting in the van turbo I put in a wicked wheel, my oil crossover tube and a regulated return fuel system (from ITP) well once the parts were all in i took it for a drive and noticed the following issues
1. low boost pressure (left a clamp loose, fixed that)
2. once clamp was tight, I had very erratic boost readings and turbo flutter, which i thought he WW should have eliminated.
3. alot of unburned fuel smell and whitish smoke at idle
so today I am gonna go through and recheck all the clamps and try it again and see what I get.
Any Professional or amatuer opinions on wht it could be? I have had my truck down a week and had hoped this would be better than this at the point i finally got it all together.
Well I checked that everything was hooked up on the spider and what was hooked up on the spider was hooked up elsewhere, I get alot of white smoke telling me that im not burning the fuel fullly? What am I missing? am I not producing enough boost? The boost is erratic, not smooth, i get grey smoke not black on the throttle. anyone wanna chime in on this?
I think i have only put 10miles or so on the truck since i did the switch, but what about the turbo flutter and erattic boost? would those be secondary symptoms of the incomplete combustion? Could there be a chance then i am sucking in air through a line, i don't think thats possible, but ? So I'll go drive it a bunch and see if it gets better thanks for the help
I went back in checked every hose again, still everything is tightand in place, i reduced fuel pressure to 60 psi but still i have white smoke at idle, and greyish white on throttle. I can smell the unburned diesel in the exhaust. I also have issues still with turbo flutter (I put in WW should i put stocker back in?) as well as erattic boost. please help?

Check to make sure the turbo mounting bracket is seated correctly on the up-pipe collector, and the v band clamp on the collector is tight and sealing. this may help on the boost problem
as far as the unburnt fuel, you may have a cracked injector nozzle, or a stuck aperature.
i hope i dont have a cracked nozzle or a stuck aperature, thems new injectors in them holes! how can i diagnose the stuck aperature or cracked nozzle? ill re re re check everything tomorrow
I replied to your PM before I saw your threads here... Nevermind my PM.
I think you have separate things going on here. I didn't know that you had different injectors in there as well. Like Brandon said, double-check that up-pipe connection, make sure the turbo wheel is turning freely (I'm assuming you rebuilt it). Other than that, I think you're troubleshooting an injector issue. I'm running the exact same tuning I was before the van turbo on stock sticks. No issues here at all.
ok i checked the o ring in between turbo and spider, its there. i am guessing that i havent air in the fuel system after 60ish miles. could it be the fuel pump wont keep up with the demands? i tried taking fuel pressure up and down while the engine was running to work the air in the system out. i see it has a tube for overflow? on top of my regulator could i use that to bleed the air out, i also tried to ensure all hoses are straight and unkinked on my fuel system but alas still grey smoke and white at idle....any suggestions
