Flathead cam help...

need help picking a cam for 8ba flathead.I have edelbrock heads and 2- stromberg 48's on edelbrock intake,no other mods to motor. I was wondering what other guys are using???

check out you tube. There are a couple of vids with people running an isky 400 cam which from what I have read is a good street grind.

The guys with 40+ yrs experience with flatties say that benefits of a "bigger" cam are pretty slim in a relatively stock engine, and tend to kill low end torque more than make big HP. In a truck, that would be bad. There is a big difference between what you'd want in a '32 roadster that weighs 2,000 lbs and what you'd want for a 3,200 lb truck. A lot of the literature and recommendations are based on the lighter cars. The bigger power adders are compression and cubic inches. Or step up to a blower.
