I'll bet it's really a "Butt Clincher" to have your engine explode in a ball of fire like that right in front of you while your pouring the coal to it.

Someone on another forum said that some pulls require that the engines are chained down to prevent being thrown out of the truck and running over them. (As if that's going to hurt them)

i seen that in a diesel world mag. sum guy put a big thick cable all the way around the engine. u know just in case the head bolts wanted to give hehe.

I have never seen an engine blow up like that before. I have seen many engine failures in the past, ex drag racer, but that one wins the blown up award. I hope that NEVER happens to me.

Ive come close to that before. My buddy in florida pulls with his truck and he blew 3 or 4 pistons through the pan and all the rods through the heads. He had the highest quality head studs so it didnt want to give. My guess would be that tractor wasnt getting enough oil pressure. My jeep blew a piston through the pan because of low oil.
