CD player stutters a lot

I have an 09 single CD/MP3 player - I do not have Sync (wish i did)
The CD/MP3 player in this is far superior to my 07 Ranger and better tracking than my buddy's 07 F250. I have 130 mp3 tracks on 1 disc and it plays all of em flawlessly (except for the digital skips that are actually in the tracks from poor ripping from the CDs.)
I'd examine the discs for damage...
