I just bought the pillar gauges Egt and Boost i was wondering if anybody could tell me where to hook the up maybe how to run them things like that any advice would be great thanks. also it a 2003 F250 with the 6.0.
I just bought some Autometer gauges for my 6.0 and they came with a complete set of installation instructions. How to drill and tap the manifold for the EGT and where to hook up the boost. However, for the boost gauge, most recomend drilling and tapping the intake elbow pipe. I think that's going to be my route. I've also found lots of info both on FTE and on the web. I'll probably install mine on the weekend if it's nice out.

Excellent pix. Were you able to use a regular drill for the pyro probe or did you need a right angle one due to limited space? And where did you get those Aluminum filter caps? I really like those.

i used a regular cordless drill and 4 drill bits, a tap and a shop vac to do mine..........those aluminum caps i bought off ebay from someone in california, they r built alot stronger than those black plastic ones........
Ok for those of us LESS mechanicly inclined, does anyone make a reliable unit that just plugs in or is the idea not to trust the factory sensors? Im not sure Im comfortable drilling holes in motor parts on my trk.
Truckblog - How-To Install Auto Meter Gauges In Project JAKD
Heres another one that I used. Foul1 don't be afraid, the boost was easy once I found the right drill bit. It only took 10 min to remove the intake elbow from the truck and @ another 10 to drill/tap it. Trans is easy, EGT I can't comment on, I got lucky I guess b/c when I got under my truck to see where I was going to drill the exh. man. -surprise! There was a plug in the spot from the PO so I just threaded the probe into it. I think running the wires was the worst part for me, not that it was hard just time consuming. Good luck!

if u do not want to drill the boost gauge sensor port in your intake elbow, u can by an accufab intake elbow, that will allow better airflow and its already tapped for a boost sensor hookup.........but as for as the egt sensor port u will have to drill and tap it, i have pics of all of this in my gallery, check it out.
Right- I read that it isn't too hard to drill the manifold as the cast iron is softer but I didn't get to drill mine. Just getting up in there will be the hard part. Make sure to wear safety glasses, don't want any metal in your eye!

yes it was very easy to drill the cast iron, just make sure u use several drill bits and step up a few sizes every time u drill until u get the hole the size u want it.....make sure u vacume the shavings out of the hole the best u can..
Ya your still talking to the guy who ate a freaking 4 way in the teeth (2 still loose) last week while changing the drum brakes on my 97 ram. I usually get it done but with the ford Im more worried about hurting it. LOL
