Trip to BTS today...have new tranny now
Well I got up at 3:45 this morning to hit the road with a good truck, trailer and a sick truck(bad tranny) to go see Brian at BTS. What a great group of people over there. Everyone there was so nice and Brian and the guys did not care if you stood around and watch and ask questions along the way. Not many places are like that.
They had the tranny out of the truck in 20 minutes(would of taken me hours) and were ready to put it on the bench to start working on it. These guys could do this in their sleep. So lets look at the overall picture here. They start working on mine at 8:10, Brian must have had 15 calls from people needing help, we all went to lunch in town and he still had my transmission rebuilt and back in my truck before 3:00.
As for the tranny and driving it feels really great now as far as the tranny goes but we had to take the chip from DP out because it down shifted really hard. I will have to call Jody tomorrow for this. But all that was no problem as he just had Cal burn me a good tune to drive home with.
If you guys get the chance to do this, dont pass it up. And for all of you out there that are thinking about a DIY type thing on your transmission, there were so many little tweaks that he did that you probably will never get them done if you do it. Lots of experience in those tweaks.

I am sure you will enjoy the experience as well. You are doing this the right way by driving your truck down there while the transmission still works, instead of waiting till in completly dies and you have to trailer it or have him ship a transmission to you.
