E4OD Tune up time!
My 93 F-150 w/302 and E4OD only has (honest!) 48K miles on it but to the best of my knowledge has never had the tranny serviced...previous owner did some mild to moderate towing, as have I. Anyway, along with draining the tranny, I'll drain the TC and replace the filter with a Ford original equipment type. But while I'm in the process, I've never been happy "when" it shifts. It shifts up too fast, and down too slow. While I have the pan off, is there anything I can do to correct this, or on the E4OD is my only choice to get one of those Trans-Commander things. Any tips before I start to get my hands dirty? Thanks.

well you could have a chip custom tailored to how you want the truck to shift and when it will shift. you can have it set to shift hard under hard throttle and soft under light cruise. also the convertor lockup can be delayed, eliminated what ever you want. you can have it shift late too. anything controlled by the pcm (pretty much everything) can be manipulated with a chip. most cost near 250$ much less than transcommand.
